Karl's Mom came up for New Year weekend as a surprise for his birthday (the 3rd). Here she is, whooping up on Brendan at foosball.
Karl's brother, Niall, and his wife, Mojic, also came up as a surprise to us all. 
Teresa flew and Niall and Mojic braved the roads. They managed to make it here between storms, but this is what we woke up to on January 2nd. 
This is Karl trying out his new snowshoes in the backyard. I didn't post the pictures of him struggling to get up after he fell. I wanted to preserve his dignity after all.
The temperature has risen and we are seeing a lot of snow melt thank goodness. We were running out of places to put it.

Well actually, he has been sick since before Christmas. We finally got that figured out (probably mycoplasma pneumonia), plus it seems he is allergic to everything that grows outside and anything with hair (pets that is). So his hope of having a dog is gone, much to Karl's joy. We are discussing lizards at the moment.
Brendan enjoyed 3 or 4 days of health before Norovirus came to visit. For those who don't know what it is, I hope you never do. Anthony fell first and vomited all night one night. The next night it was my turn, the next night, Rita's and this past Monday it found Brendan at school. He was very sick but once the worst of it was over he was pretty happy about staying home with me yesterday and playing video games and watching TV. After all, rules are meant for well kids. Karl has so far escaped the worst of it thank God. We all seem to be on the mend now. The babies and I got to go to the store this morning, our first outing in a week!
I include this picture just because I think it is funny. This was before Norovirus. Rita is apparently dirty and so is putting herself into the wash. I caught them before Anthony shut the door on her or pushed any buttons!

OK, by heart stopped on that last picture. It would not have been a fun ride for Rita!!!! Justin was wishing he could have the snow here. I was glad it was not :)
