School started on the 26th of August. Brendan was so excited to start because he got the teacher he really, really wanted. He actually was in bed at 7 pm the night before to make sure he wasn't tired the next day. He didn't actually go to sleep until about 10 pm, after multiple checks to make sure he had everything. He had his clothes laid out on the floor in the exact order to be put on in the morning. It was great to see him so excited about returning to St. Matthew's. So far he is off to a great start!

I worked my 5 nights the next weekend, which included our 12th wedding anniversary and my 41st birthday. Good Lord, how did that happen?! Karl, in a stellar feat of time management and multitasking, finished the shed that weekend while juggling the kids. Way to go Karl, it looks awesome!
We went camping to Fish Creek over Labor Day weekend, once again with the Donahue family. We camped there together on the opening day and were together on the closing day! As always we had a great time with them and the "brothers from other mothers" were inseparable in fun and in trouble! We got home with two hours to spare before going to the Bois' for an end of summer BBQ. The kids had a blast rolling in the dirt and looking at all the animals. Rita was enthralled with the goat that Sandra was milking and kept trying to give the goat a kiss. Sandra gave her a squirt of milk in the face that completely surprised her and made us all laugh at her reaction. The older kids put on a murder mystery for us, but I was too tired to figure out who done it. Karl claimed he had to keep an eye on the twins, but I saw an awful lot of him by the fire with a beer.

We got home just in time to bathe filthy kids, toss them in bed and collapse ourselves. Hope your summer ended just as nicely! I blogged the Bois party first, but Katie, you win for the most posts of the summer!
