A Whole Weekend Off

This is my first entire weekend off, since probably February. I'm not even on call. It was so exciting we couldn't really decide what to do with it. Luckily, there are enough things to do around here that boredom wasn't an option.

We had an impromptu pot-luck dinner with our neighbors last night. Karl and I watched a whole movie together (a rare treat). Today I did four hours of yard work. Something I haven't had time to do in such a long time. I was filthy, sweaty and exhausted by the end of it and loved it! It felt so good to work in the garden again. Karl meanwhile was at a Cub Scout activity with Brendan and Rita and Anthony were kind enough to take a 3 hour nap.

This evening we drove up to Apgar village in Glacier National Park and let the kids throw rocks in Lake MacDonald. Karl and I got our heart rates up by keeping the twins out of the water. Boy were they mad when we left. They kept yelling mo' and wa' wa' meaning more water. Brendan wasn't happy either, but it was dinner time. We ate at the West Glacier Restaurant and then drove around on some back roads. I forgot to take the camera, sorry, no pictures.

I am thinking the hassle of working five nights in a row will be worth having 9 straight days off. It has been a long time since the whole family spent a weekend together. Wonder what tomorrow will bring?
